  • bacon 6 slices
  • dried prunes 200 g
  • port
  • bread 450 g
  • chestnuts 200 g
  • pork 400 g
  • lemon 1
  • thyme 1 tbsp
  • sage 1 tbsp
  • parsely 3 tbsp
  • nutmeg Β½ tsp
  • salt
  • eggs 2

    Melt butter in a pan . Add onion and bacon and cook until soft. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

    Rehydrate dried prunes in port .

    Crumble bread . Mash chestnuts and chop the prunes.

    In a large bowl , combine bread, chestnuts, prunes, cooked onion mixture, pork , zest if lemon , thyme , sage , parsely , nutmeg , salt , and eggs . Mix thoroughly.

    Transfer to a buttered baking dish . Bake in the oven at 180Β°C for 45 minutes .
